Changes are happening. Today was my last day to work in Dallas. It’s really tough saying goodbye to such a wonderful place and so many great people. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to work at Charlie Uniform Tango, even if only for a short time. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It will be missed. More good things are right around the corner…
Last night was really special. It was VII‘s night of worship with Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes. The energy of worship for the Lord and surrender that filled the room was incredible. Adding to the night for me personally, I had the privilege of creating the handwritten lyrics that were displayed on the screens. I cannot tell you what that did to my heart. Being even such a small part of the worship night gave me an overwhelming sense of confidence that God is using the creative talents He gave me to bring Him glory.
If you are a young adult and haven’t heard of VII, check it out here. Service is every Tuesday night at 7:15pm at Gateway Church in Southlake, Grand Prairie, or North Fort Worth.
I’d like to share with you something I love to do, other than filmmaking. I love to create handmade cards in my spare time. It’s a fun creative outlet for me, and something special I can share with people on their birthday or when I’d like to say thank you.
One year ago today, on November 8, 2013, my best friend Gabriela married her best friend Jordan. 18 days later they welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Sofia Harper. This was a beautiful moment that I am so happy I got to experience, and now I’m happy to share it with you. Happy first anniversary, Gabriela & Jordan!
Tonight my short film SOLSTICE won two awards at this year’s Chick Flicks Film Festival! We took home both the Student Award and the Audience Award. I am overwhelmed by the love & so excited to put to good use the Panavision camera rental package we won! I can’t wait to get started on a new film. Thank you Women in Film Dallas!
Please help this talented UTA filmmaker, inspiring guy, and someone very special to me, Brad Gamm, make his senior thesis film Ashes to Ashes Movie!
This is a short film about a father’s last attempt to reconnect with his son after a long absence. The story is personal to Brad, and comes from the heart. Not only will it be a touching film, but it will be gorgeous to look at! We are excited to be shooting in the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma in just a short 4 weeks.
Please take the time to look at the film’s Indiegogo page, donate if you can, and share the link to your friends! We would love to have your support as we set out to create this film.
To add to the excitement, our very own Juli Erickson and Grant James are this year’s festival’s honorees! I’m so proud to have them both in this film & I’m so happy that they will be honored for the talented actors and amazing people that they are. Juli & Grant’s tribute will be Sunday, October 19 at 6pm.
This weekend I had the opportunity to work on a new short film directed by one of my former professors at UTA, Ya’Ke Smith. The entire film was shot on two iPhones, and all in one day of shooting. It was so good to be on set again, and I’m happy it was with my UTA family!
It’s official. I am AVSD Productions‘ newest full time editor! The company creates wedding, corporate, commercial, and music videos. With this job I will be able to dabble in a little bit of everything, while getting paid to do what I have always loved—editing video.
Last night my older brother Andrew graduated with his master’s from SMU’s Guildhall. I watched him work so hard over the last two years to achieve this degree, and last night it all came to a head. Andrew has accepted a job offer at a video game company called 5th Cell located in Bellevue, Washington. We are so proud of him, but there is a slight sting that in a short two weeks he will be starting this new chapter in his life so far away from home.
This video is for Andrew, to remind him of some of his greatest achievements—big and small—in his life thus far. More importantly, it is to show that his family loves him, and we will always be here for support (and to test run all of his games).
I’m excited to share Blue October‘s latest music video “Sway” directed by the crazy talented Bongani Mlambo. This was such an awesome shoot to be a part of. These guys are super cool & fun to work with. I’m grateful for the experience. Check it out, like & share!
Last night I graduated with a BFA in Film/Video from the University of Texas at Arlington. I am so fortunate to have walked the stage with eight of my friends and fellow filmmakers who I shared my college experience with. Many thanks to our professors, Bart Weiss, Ya’Ke Smith, and Mark Clive. You have inspired us and given us the knowledge and drive to achieve our goals.
